  • PIROVAC

    Pirovac is a small resort situated on the Adriatic coast 20 km away from Šibenik and 50 km from Zadar. It boasts of a nice and mild climate. It has clear and warm sea, some 4 degrees warmer than elsewhere. The coastline that is well-indented with a number of coves, sandy, pebble and stone beaches, islands and pine-woods makes this place optimal for your holidays.In the bay of Pirovac you can visit a small island of Sustipanac, a special attraction with the ruins of a medieval church. You can bathe there relaxing in a pine-wood. In Makirina cove you can experience the benefits of healing muds.
    The National Parks of Kornati and Krka  river are in the vicinity of Pirovac. So is the park of nature Vransko jezero famous for its numerous bird species and fishing facilities. The surrounding countryside of Pirovac offers attractive fields with olive-trees, fig-trees as well as beautiful vineyards. A lot of medicinal herbs grow there. Sporting facilities include swimming, diving, rowing, water-skiing, sailing and hiking. There are also numerous cycling trails everywhere.

    Pirovac has had a turbulent history. A number of different ruins and artifacts witness to it. It was first 
    mentioned in 1298. In the Middle Ages it was known as a tourist and health resort. The church of Gospa Karmelska 
    was built in 1506. The gate and wall ruins originate from the 16th century. The relics of Roman villa can be 
    seen at the end of the bay of Pirovac.
